Used Service Technician

Job Description

We are looking for motivated Service Technicians to join our team at Rudd Equipment Company. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing drive-train components, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on heavy equipment in both shop and field settings. Your role will also involve contributing to a positive work environment while adhering to safety regulations and company values.

Responsibilities

• Participate in safety programs and work in a safe manner.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment.
• Perform welding, fabricate, and modify parts as needed.
• Repair components of engine hydraulic systems, air conditioning systems, and more.
• Ensure customer satisfaction by working with a sense of urgency.
• Comply with quality standards, safety procedures, and DOT requirements.
• Travel and work remotely as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with complex hydraulic, electrical, and drive-train systems.
• General welding and fabrication skills.
• Knowledge of equipment operation and test equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical information from schematics.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Technical school graduate preferred.
• Experience with Volvo and paving equipment a plus.

Communication Skills

• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to document complaints, causes, and repairs.
• Effective communication with supervisors and customers.

Physical Demands

The position will require lifting, pushing, and pulling various weights. Must be able to work in different weather conditions and environments.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with variable work hours and occasional overtime.
