Surgical Assistant

Job Description

Oklahoma Dental Implants & Oral Surgery, an elite oral surgery practice, is seeking a Surgical Assistant to join their dynamic team. The Surgical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting surgeons during procedures, ensuring exceptional patient care and positive clinical outcomes.

Role and Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to support patient care.
• Verify patient identities and operative sites.
• Assist surgeons during procedures with tissue retraction, intravenous lines, and documentation.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout surgeries.
• Obtain and inspect surgical equipment and instruments.
• Operate sterilization devices and monitor patient status.
• Complete patient clinical narratives and other assigned duties.

Education and Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required or ability to complete within 1 month of hire.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.
• DAANCE certification, licensed dental assistant, and radiology certification are beneficial.
