Job Description
We are looking for a talented Principal Data Scientist to join Discover Financial Services. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with management to execute analytical initiatives, provide thought leadership, and leverage advanced analytics techniques to solve business problems. This role involves monitoring performance metrics, managing risks, and delivering strategic insights to drive business growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide thought leadership and strategic thinking to translate business problems into analytical frameworks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to conduct end-to-end analysis and drive strategy enhancement.
- Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics, customer segmentation, optimization, and machine learning algorithms.
- Deliver effective presentations of findings, automate reports, and prototype dashboards for scalable insights.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field.
- 6+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in Credit Risk, Fraud Risk, Marketing Analytics, or related field.

Compensation
Base pay generally ranges from $126,500.00 to $177,300.00, with additional incentives based on market competitiveness and individual qualifications.
