Job Description

Johnson Regional Medical Center is looking to hire a dedicated and skilled Medical Technologist for full-time WEO night shifts. In this role, you will be responsible for processing laboratory specimens and reporting results across various areas of the clinical laboratory. You will also maintain laboratory records, follow established policies and procedures, and ensure quality control practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-complexity, moderate complexity, and waived testing in areas such as blood bank, chemistry, hematology, microbiology, and more.
  • Inventory and order supplies for designated areas of the clinical laboratory.
  • Act as lead for a specific area assigned by the Laboratory Manager, overseeing testing, quality improvement, and inventory management.
  • Ensure accurate documentation, notify healthcare providers of critical values, and adhere to safety and quality standards.

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Chemistry, or Biology, or Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician with 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Certification in Medical Technology preferred.
  • Proficiency in English communication and basic computer knowledge.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a hospital environment with exposure to biological, chemical, and mechanical hazards.
  • Operate various laboratory equipment while standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring attention to detail and compliance with safety protocols.
