The University of Toledo Physicians is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team of healthcare professionals. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and supporting physicians in various clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities
- Perform clinical procedures under physician's supervision.
- Assist in physical exam preparations and documentation of vital signs.
- Ensure timely and accurate appointment scheduling and chart management.
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide instructions and information.
- Maintain exam rooms, medical supplies, and equipment for patient visits.
- Adhere to quality and safety protocols in clinical procedures and infection control.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- BLS Certification.
- 1+ year of clinical/medical industry experience or Medical Assistant Diploma.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and clinical proficiency.
- Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited Medical Assisting Program.
- RMA, CMA, or CCMA Certification.
- 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Previous experience as an STNA, EMT, or similar work background.
Working Conditions
- Occasional lifting up to approximately 50 pounds.
- Sitting, standing, walking, and other clinical activities.
- Primarily inside in a clinical setting.
- Exposure to medical patients and close care situations.
