Job Description
We are hiring an Engineer II - DAS (Distributed Acoustic Sensing) to join our team at EarthScope Consortium. This full-time position, based in Socorro, New Mexico, requires managing and implementing field projects related to geophysical instruments and networks. The Engineer II will work on logistics, field operations, and collaboration with various team members to ensure the successful deployment of geophysical technologies. Responsibilities also include proposing new technologies, training staff, and maintaining project documentation in line with organizational standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage and implement geophysical projects.
- Assist in the design and testing of new systems.
- Evaluate instrument design and data for system adequacy.
- Ensure proper documentation of activities and metadata.
- Collaborate on projects with other departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, geosciences, or related field.
- Experience with geophysical sensors or networks.
- Familiarity with data quality analysis software.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Experience in field operations in diverse environments.

- Salary Range: $74,400 - $92,900/year
- Travel Requirements: Up to 30%
- Full-time, on-site position in Socorro, New Mexico
