Job Description

We are looking for an Agronomy Plant Operator/Controller to join Mid Kansas Cooperative. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing agronomy shipping, receiving, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies. You will maintain facility equipment, provide excellent customer service, and complete assigned projects.

Essential Qualifications

  • Logistics and inventory management of agronomy products.
  • Knowledge of equipment handling dry fertilizer, liquid fertilizer, anhydrous ammonia, and crop protection products.
  • Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, DOT regulations, and company policies.
  • Good understanding of seeds, chemicals, and fertilizer products.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Commercial Driver's License (A) with Hazardous Materials and Tanker endorsements.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
  • Computer and data entry proficiency.
  • Customer service orientation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Mechanical background with welding and automotive abilities.
  • Chemical applicator license.

Physical Requirements

The job involves various physical activities requiring the ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform tasks that demand agility and coordination. PPE is essential in designated areas as well as handling chemicals.

Required Education and Experience

Basic understanding of Crop Protection Products, Crop Nutrient products, and associated equipment.

Job Duties

  • Oversee operational functions of the agronomy department.
  • Make agronomic recommendations to customers.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain inventory control and operational records.
  • Operate within budgets and assist in training employees.
