Warehouse Team Member

Job Description

We are currently hiring Warehouse Team Members to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. As a Warehouse Team Member, you will play a crucial role in merchandise movement, ensuring efficient storing, moving, and distributing of products. This is a full-time position with competitive pay starting at $17 per hour.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

• Perform merchandise movement tasks such as storing, moving, and distributing products.
• Lead by example and provide training to other employees.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

Merchandise Movement

• Ensure space efficiency by moving and condensing merchandise within locations.
• Handle movement of merchandise to and from the show floor for various purposes.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for managing workflow.
• Verify accuracy on customer orders and system records.
• Unload, inspect, tag, and receive incoming products; assemble, inspect, and wrap outgoing products.

Training

• Lead by example and provide training to other employees.

Customer Service

• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Ensure inventory accuracy by resolving discrepancies and keeping management informed.

Other

• Follow lean practices and perform other duties as directed by the supervisor.
• Contribute to grounds and building maintenance tasks.

Safety

• Adhere to safety policies and practices, model safe behaviors, and follow risk reduction procedures.
• Avoid equipment/merchandise damage through proper handling and maintenance.
• Maintain a safe, organized facility by following guidelines and specifications.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge required.
• POS knowledge is desirable.
