Job Description: Warehouse Associate at Slumberland Furniture

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Competitive pay starting at $17 per hour

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:
This position entails executing duties related to merchandise movement such as storing, moving, and distributing products. Additionally, providing training to fellow employees is a crucial aspect of the role.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Merchandise Movement:
  • Optimize space efficiency by moving and consolidating merchandise within locations.
  • Handle the transfer of merchandise to and from the show floor, ensuring appropriate wrapping and display for various purposes.
  • Utilize the point of sale (POS) system effectively to manage the merchandise flow.
  • Maintain accuracy in customer orders and system records.
  • Process incoming merchandise by unloading, inspecting, tagging, and receiving. Outgoing merchandise should be unpacked, inspected, assembled, and wrapped securely.
• Training:
  • Lead by example and provide training to other team members.
• Customer Service:
  • Deliver professional customer service interactions with clients, colleagues, and vendors. Resolve inventory discrepancies promptly and keep management informed.
• Other:
  • Implement lean practices and fulfill any other duties assigned by the supervisor, including schedule variations and tasks in different locations. Assist with grounds and building maintenance and lighting when required.
• Safety:
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures, model safe behaviors, and implement risk reduction strategies. Safely handle equipment and merchandise, following guidelines and maintaining an organized and secure facility.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or currently pursuing one).
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• A valid driver's license.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• POS system familiarity is beneficial.
