Job Description
We are currently seeking a motivated Senior Merchandise Handler to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers a competitive starting salary of $17 per hour. As a Senior Merchandise Handler, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement, storage, and distribution of our products. Additionally, you will provide training to other team members, ensure accurate inventory records, and deliver exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently move and condense merchandise to maximize space utilization.
- Handle the movement of merchandise to and from the show floor for various purposes.
- Utilize the point of sale (POS) system to manage inventory flow.
- Ensure accuracy in customer orders and inventory records.
- Handle incoming and outgoing merchandise with care to maintain product quality.
- Provide training to fellow employees and lead by example.
- Maintain excellent customer service by communicating effectively and resolving inventory discrepancies.
- Adhere to safety protocols to protect equipment, merchandise, and maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent (in progress acceptable).
- Basic math skills and familiarity with tools, hardware, and product assembly.
- A valid driver's license is mandatory.
- Basic computer proficiency required; POS knowledge is a plus.
