Merchandise Handler - Overtime Available

Job Description

We are hiring merchandise handlers to join our team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers competitive pay and opportunities for overtime. As a merchandise handler, you will be responsible for efficient merchandise movement, training, customer service, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This role involves storing, moving, and distributing products, as well as providing some training to other employees. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth flow of merchandise within our warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Move merchandise efficiently within locations for optimal space use.
• Transport merchandise to and from the show floor, ensuring proper display or packaging for storage or delivery.
• Manage flow using the point of sale (POS) system and maintain accuracy in customer orders and records.
• Inspect, receive, unpack, and assemble merchandise to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Provide training to colleagues and maintain professional communication with customers and vendors.
• Adhere to safety policies, handle equipment properly, and maintain a safe and organized facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting with grounds and building maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge required.
• Point of sale (POS) system knowledge is desirable.
