Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

Join our team at Slumberland Furniture as a Merchandise Handler, a vital role in our warehouse operations. As a Merchandise Handler, you will be responsible for the movement and organization of inventory, ensuring smooth logistics and customer satisfaction.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This position involves storing, moving, and distributing products within the warehouse. As a leader in merchandise movement, you will provide training to other employees and maintain the efficiency of operations.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and organize merchandise to optimize space.
• Handle merchandise for display, storage, delivery, and shipment.
• Manage inventory using the point of sale (POS) system.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and inventory records.
• Participate in incoming and outgoing merchandise processes.
• Provide training to other team members.
• Maintain professional communication with customers and colleagues.
• Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
• Contribute to maintaining an organized facility through grounds and building maintenance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of tools, hardware components, and product assembly.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with POS systems is desirable.
