Job Description
We are currently seeking a dedicated Merchandise Handler to join our warehouse team at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour with a predictable schedule from Monday to Friday, starting at 7:00 am.
Primary Objective & Scope of Position
The Merchandise Handler will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and distributing products within the warehouse. Leading by example, you will provide some training to colleagues and ensure accuracy in inventory management.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities
- Efficiently move and organize merchandise to optimize space usage.
- Handle merchandise for various purposes including display, storage, delivery, and shipment.
- Utilize the point of sale (POS) system for inventory management.
- Unpack, assemble, inspect, and wrap merchandise to maintain quality standards.
- Provide training to team members and maintain a high level of customer service.
- Follow safety protocols to prevent damage and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
- Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware.
- Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge.
- Previous experience with a point of sale (POS) system is desirable.
