Merchandise Handler - No Weekends

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is in search of a detail-oriented Merchandise Handler to join our warehouse team. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour with no weekend shifts. As a Merchandise Handler, you will be responsible for efficiently moving, storing, and distributing products to ensure customer satisfaction.

Primary Objective & Scope of Position:

• Perform merchandise movement tasks to optimize space efficiency.
• Transfer merchandise to and from different locations for various purposes.
• Utilize the point of sale (POS) system to track inventory flow.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

• Ensure accuracy in processing customer orders and maintaining system records.
• Unload, inspect, tag, and receive incoming merchandise.
• Assemble, wrap, and inspect outgoing merchandise to guarantee pristine delivery.
• Provide training to fellow team members and lead by example.
• Communicate effectively with customers, colleagues, and vendors to uphold inventory accuracy.
• Implement safety protocols to prevent equipment and merchandise damage.
• Conduct building maintenance tasks and assist with lighting needs.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED (or currently pursuing).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer proficiency.
• Experience with POS systems is advantageous.
