Material Handler

Job Description

We are currently looking to hire a Material Handler at Slumberland Furniture. This full-time position offers competitive pay starting at $17 per hour. The Material Handler will be responsible for various merchandise movement tasks including storing, moving, and distributing products within the warehouse. Additionally, the role involves leading by example, providing training to other employees, and ensuring exceptional customer service standards.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and organize merchandise to maximize space utilization.
• Handle the movement of merchandise to and from different locations, including display, storage, delivery, and customer pickup.
• Utilize the point of sale system for inventory management and accuracy.
• Process incoming and outgoing merchandise with attention to detail and care.
• Provide training and guidance to other team members.
• Maintain high levels of customer service through effective communication and inventory management.
• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent damage to equipment and maintain a safe work environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license and basic computer knowledge required.
• Point of sale system knowledge is desirable.
