Material Handler

Job Description

Slumberland Furniture is currently seeking Full-time Material Handlers to join our warehouse team. If you have experience in merchandise movement, forklift operations, and are dedicated to providing excellent customer service, we want you to join us!

Primary Objective & Scope of Position

This position plays a crucial role in the movement of merchandise, ensuring efficient storage, distribution, and customer satisfaction. As a Material Handler, you will lead by example, provide training to colleagues, and maintain a safe and organized warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Efficiently move and store merchandise to optimize space.
• Prepare merchandise for display, delivery, or shipment.
• Utilize POS system for inventory management.
• Ensure accuracy in customer orders and records.
• Handle incoming and outgoing merchandise with care and attention to detail.
• Provide training to team members.
• Communicate professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Adhere to safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (or currently working towards).
• Basic math skills and knowledge of tools and hardware components.
• Valid driver's license.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Experience with POS systems is desirable.
