Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Server is the key Associate in delivering the Silver Diner brand to our guests. You are responsible for providing Silver Diner hospitality, generating sales, delivering food & beverage orders, and handling POS functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure:
  • Each guest receives outstanding service, greets guests promptly, takes accurate orders, suggestsively sells, rings orders accurately, handles payments promptly, pre-busses tables, maintains station cleanliness, works well in a team.

BRAND DELIVERY:

• Be punctual, maintain a positive attitude, adhere to uniform standards, know SMG scoring standards, deliver the Silver Diner Brand experience.

COST BALANCING:

• Account for sales, handle cash properly, portion self-service items accurately.

Other Duties & Tasks:

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES:

• Ensure positive sales growth, guest satisfaction, and build guest relationships.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

Silver Diner values on-the-job learning and formal education.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

1-2 years experience as a Server or Bartender preferred.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

• Exceptional aptitude for Guest Service, excellent communication, friendly, outgoing, organized, sense of urgency, able to multitask, quick thinker, reliable.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Includes physically demanding tasks, standing for long hours, lifting, reaching, bending, and exposure to various elements. Must meet legal requirements for serving alcohol.
