Job Description

Join our team at Doppelmayr USA Inc as an Electrical Engineer in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing electrical control system schematics and parts lists, specifying power distributions, electric motors, VFDs, and related components for aerial ropeways of various types. Your role will involve ensuring the compliance of control circuits with relevant codes and standards, providing support to the Customer Service department, promoting efficient design across global standards, and meeting quality objectives. Clear communication, problem-solving, and the ability to work in challenging environments are key to excelling in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement control circuits compliant with applicable codes and standards.
  • Provide support to the Customer Service department with troubleshooting and resources.
  • Communicate effectively with key personnel in other offices to ensure efficient design.
  • Ensure compliance with quality objectives.
  • Perform electrical project engineering activities for projects of increasing complexity.

Requirements

  • Clear understanding of PLC and relay logic control system design principles.
  • Proficiency in electrical circuit diagrams and symbols.
  • Experience with PLC and HMI software and hardware integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD software.
  • Familiarity with power distribution systems.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% from January to September.
  • Ability to work at heights in mountainous environments.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with hydraulic system controls.
  • Ability to perform safety analysis of complex control circuits.
  • Familiarity with fiberoptic cabling.
  • Leadership and management skills.

Education and Experience

  • Required: BSEE or equivalent with proven competency in electrical discipline.
  • Preferred: EIT Certification, Manufacturer's Training in automation hardware and software.
  • 0-5 years of experience, preferably in control systems engineering.

Other Requirements

  • Flexibility in schedule and high adaptability to changing work environments.
  • Full-time, in-office position reporting directly to the team lead.
