Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious Auxiliary Operator Trainee to join Constellation Energy, the nation's largest producer of clean energy. As an Auxiliary Operator Trainee, you will work under direct supervision to perform operational activities, including equipment evaluation, system operations, and administrative duties. This role involves monitoring and controlling nuclear station equipment and responding to plant indicators and alarms to ensure safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor nuclear and turbine generator systems within prescribed limits.
  • Start, stop, adjust, and test various components of systems as directed.
  • Initiate Emergency Plan procedures when required and respond to plant transients.
  • Participate in station fire brigade activities and assist in directing other personnel.
  • Identify and correct deficient conditions using the Corrective Action program.
  • Operate communications equipment and assist during reactor refueling procedures.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of Power Plant experience, including 1 year in a Nuclear Power Plant.
  • Possession of a Bachelors or Associates degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related science program is preferred.
  • Ability to pass required tests including the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) Examination.
  • Must be able to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear facility and meet psychological, drug, alcohol, and medical testing requirements.
  • Available for rotating shift work, on-call status, and Emergency Response Organizational duties.

Compensation

Starting salary: $41.20/hour with competitive benefits package
