Maintenance Technician

Job Description

As a proactive team member, the Maintenance Technician at McIntosh Box & Pallet Co Inc is responsible for managing plant maintenance programs under the direction of the Plant Manager. The role focuses on ensuring employee health and safety, product safety, and environmental protection while enhancing product quality, plant performance, and business priorities.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures in manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain process hand tools and perform minor unscheduled maintenance on trucking equipment.
• Document performance and processes accurately, execute work orders, and provide coaching on industrial equipment use and repair.
• Perform basic carpentry and masonry tasks, as well as handle miscellaneous tasks like electrical/plumbing work, painting, building repairs, and landscaping.

Requirements

• Mechanically inclined with knowledge of common mechanics tools.
• Preferably completed a 30-hour OSHA course and has welding knowledge.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair industrial systems, understand air compressors, and manage industrial machine maintenance.
• Familiarity with OSHA regulations, Control of Hazardous Energy procedures, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
• Physically capable of lifting heavy objects, walking on concrete floors for extended periods, and using MS Office and internet applications.
• Strong communication skills and a high school diploma or GED.
