Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) delivers quality care within the scope of practice outlined by the state nurse practice act. Responsibilities include monitoring patients as directed by healthcare professionals and providing nursing care to meet individual patient needs.
Minimum Requirements
- Graduate from a Licensed Practical Nursing program.
- Currently licensed as a Practical Nurse in the state of employment.
- Active CPR certification.
- Knowledgeable about state laws and regulations governing practice.
- Completion of initial and annual clinical competencies.
Essential Functions
- Utilizes systematic approach to meet patient health needs.
- Implements nursing care within LPN's scope of practice.
- Develops and implements teaching plans for patients' health needs.
- Performs wound care, administers medications, and monitors vital signs.
- Documents actions and medical records.
- Other nursing duties as assigned.
