Highway Design Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Highway Design Technician to join our team at Professional Engineering Consultants. This position plays a vital role in supporting the design and production of transportation projects that improve community safety and quality of life, as well as facilitate economic development. In this role, you will work with a group of dedicated professionals in transportation planning, roadway and bridge design, traffic engineering, and construction administration.

Responsibilities

• Utilize CAD software to produce highway concept exhibits, working drawings, and final construction plans.
• Collaborate with Team Lead, Project Managers, and Engineers to complete drafting tasks efficiently.
• Organize project information and manage multiple assignments.
• Review project submittals to ensure compliance with drafting standards.

Requirements

• Training in CAD software with a certificate or degree (certification is a plus).
• Knowledge of CAD production software and familiarity with Microstation/Bentley design products.
• Ability to interpret plans and meet project deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
• Understanding of field surveys and electronic data processing is advantageous.
