Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Automotive Diesel Mechanic to join First Student, the largest school transportation provider in North America. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing school buses to ensure vehicle readiness and safety. You will also provide guidance to lower-level technicians and assist with mobile emergency services. Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair various vehicle and equipment components such as brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
  • Ensure accurate completion of work orders.
  • Provide expertise during mobile emergency services.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
  • Minimum of 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance and repair experience or technical school education.
  • Possess a mechanic's tool set.
  • Willingness to participate in ASE certification program with provided training, testing, and bonuses.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical examination.
