Professional Engineering Consultants (PEC) is seeking an Experienced Construction Inspector to join our team in Lawrence, KS. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with regulations and specifications across various construction projects. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and report on civil construction projects to ensure compliance with regulations and contract specifications.
• Review and interpret construction drawings and perform checks on various project types.
• Attend meetings, resolve issues, make recommendations for changes, and maintain inspection reports.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Conduct materials testing in the field as needed.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of construction inspection experience preferred.
• KDOT Inspection Experience and certifications like KDOT CITT and ACI are advantageous.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction methods and practices, safety regulations, and equipment inspection procedures.
• Proficiency in reading construction drawings and technical documents, conducting material testing, and communicating technical information effectively.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the state of Kansas.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and technical tools/equipment used in inspections.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and willingness to work flexible hours.
