Job Description
Marion County Health and Human Services Public Health Division is seeking a Bilingual Public Health Worker 3 specialized in Clinical Preventive Services. This individual will engage with monolingual Marshallese/Chuukese-speaking clients, requiring fluent bilingual skills. As part of the clinical team, you will provide culturally responsive programs and clinical services in a friendly, non-judgmental environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct TB investigations in the field and by phone.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to provide clinical services.
- Assist in TB control program activities such as Directly Observed Therapy (DOT) and clinic procedures.
- Perform Tuberculin Skin Test evaluations and phlebotomy.
- Participate in STD investigation, partner services, and HIV outreach events.
- Provide assistance for syphilis staging appointments and interviews.
- Practice cultural sensitivity and effective communication with clients and staff.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, with relevant associate degree and experience.
- Fluent bilingual Marshallese/Chuukese/English skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Strong communication, advocacy, and negotiation skills.
- Physical ability to operate a motor vehicle and perform required tasks.
