Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Vet Cadets Teacher to join the Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon team. As a toddler teacher, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe and stimulating learning environment for young children aged 12 months up to 3 years. Your responsibilities will include implementing age-appropriate activities, fostering child development, maintaining records, and ensuring a positive classroom atmosphere.

Essential Functions:

  • Monitor and respond to classroom activities.
  • Implement developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans.
  • Create a nurturing environment for children's growth.
  • Provide individualized attention and support to children.
  • Use effective classroom management techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress.

Education & Experience:

Must possess at least one of the following:

  • College credits in early childhood education.
  • State or nationally recognized credential in infant and toddler care.
  • Qualifying teaching experience in child care centers.
  • Completion of training in early childhood education.
  • Documentation of attaining a specific step in the Oregon Registry.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Create a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Knowledge of child development principles.
  • Ability to handle physical demands of the role.
  • Positive attitude and flexibility in classroom situations.
  • Passion for fostering a nurturing educational environment.

Physical Demands:

  • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Stand and be mobile for over 75% of the work period.
  • Frequent bending, crouching, and sitting on the floor.
  • Exposure to playful and noisy environments.
