Job Description

PacifiCorp is seeking a Transmission & Distribution Vendor Management Associate to facilitate and optimize contracted resources throughout the service territory for electric distribution construction, operation, maintenance, restoration, and customer service activities. The position involves assisting in the development of profitable vendor relationships, including sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing from vendors and liaising between field operations and external contractors. It also entails planning, organizing, and controlling resources/processes to achieve project/program objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget constraints to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with managing external contract resources in support of field operations managers to effectively deliver planned capital and maintenance projects that are to be constructed using external contract resources.
  • Serve as the liaison between Field Operations and external contractors to ensure optimal resource utilization and to derive maximum value from the line service agreement.
  • Participate in activities related to the planning, design, building, maintenance, switching, and control of the distribution and transmission systems.
  • Assist management in after-hours emergencies relating to distribution and transmission activities and workload.
  • Assist in procurement and delivery of the Transmission and Distribution Capital and OMAG plan from a contract resource perspective.
  • Responsible for all related reporting, including specific business result monthly summaries.
  • Negotiate and manage customer relationships with external vendors.
  • Manages and approves/disapproves all change orders and affected processes for requests submitted by external vendors.
  • Coordinate, review, and provide input to invoicing, accruals, and other business practices and procedures related to the delivery of annual plans.
  • Support business objectives, strategies, and plans.
  • Allocate contract resources under general direction and oversee delivery from vendor and evaluate vendor performance/impact on business outcomes.
  • Ensure that a zero-accident workplace message is delivered in a convincing manner on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience in the electric utility or related industry.
  • Three years of directly related experience in one or more of the following specialties: distribution operations, maintenance, construction, supply chain, contract administration, or supplier performance management.
  • Must be flexible and available in responding to after-hour emergencies under short notice on any given day, at any given time.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and mainframe applications.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to conduct business and work with employees while understanding that information acquired in this position is confidential and must be treated as such in all communications, both internal and external.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
