We are looking for a talented Sous Chef to join our City Cruises operation in Washington, DC. As part of the kitchen management team, the Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure high levels of quality, sanitation, and guest satisfaction while maintaining profitability.
- Act as the on-duty kitchen manager for cruises, ensuring adherence to procedures and sanitation standards.
- Manage and train kitchen staff, participate in scheduling, and maintain positive working relationships.
- Ensure effective execution of each cruise for a quality guest experience.
- Control costs, monitor inventory, and manage purchasing and payroll processes.
- Participate in fleet-wide initiatives and undertake additional duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of kitchen experience in a high-volume setting, with management experience.
- Formal culinary training or additional kitchen experience.
- ServSafe Certified.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, establish working relationships, and communicate effectively.
- Physical ability to work in extreme conditions, operate machinery, and lift heavy items.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and fluency in English.
