Job Description

Helen Ross McNabb Center is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs or LPNs) to join our team in East Tennessee, where you will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of special populations, including individuals with severe and persistent mental illness, co-occurring disorders, and dual diagnosis disorders.

Our mission is to improve the lives of the people we serve, and as part of the McNabb Center team, you will play a crucial role in achieving this goal.

Positions include crisis services, residential and outpatient settings, and health link nurse care coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Providing compassionate and efficient nursing care to individuals with special needs.
  • Using excellent communication and role-modeling skills to relate to individuals and families from diverse backgrounds with respect and dignity.
  • Implementing verbal and physical de-escalation techniques to ensure the safety of clients and staff.

Requirements

  • Current LPN or RN license in Tennessee (depending on position).
  • Knowledge of psychiatric/mental health, A&D, and co-occurring disorders is preferred.
  • CPR certified or willing to become certified.
  • Experience working with special populations preferred.
  • Proficient in various computer skills, including electronic medical records and technology.

Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to biological hazards.
  • Hearing of normal and soft tones as well as close eye work.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs.; Pushing/pulling up to 150 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Certification in and adequate implementation of verbal and physical de-escalation techniques (Handle with Care).
