Job Description
We are looking for a Product Development Engineer to join our team at Dometic Marine. As a Product Engineer, you will be responsible for developing mechanical and electro-mechanical solutions for the marine market while ensuring compliance with government and industry standards. You will play a vital role in sustaining engineering for Limerick design controlled products, collaborating with design engineering to create cost-effective and robust solutions, and developing tools and machinery for fabrication and assembly processes. Additionally, you will conduct analysis, identify improvement opportunities, and implement changes to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Develop cost-effective and robust solutions for design challenges.
- Design tools, fixtures, and machines for fabrication and assembly processes.
- Coordinate vendors and contractors for tool development.
- Analyze failure modes and implement preventive measures.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
- Prepare production capacity estimates and work instructions.
- Implement changes to enhance manufacturing processes and quality.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
- Experience in marine or vehicle controls markets preferred.
- Proficiency in solid and 2-D modeling software.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and rapid prototyping.
- Experience with electro-mechanical sensors and measurement devices.
- Project management skills with a focus on timelines.
- Proficiency in office software.
