Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Portman. In this role, you will be responsible for independently performing a variety of general facility maintenance repairs, conducting preventative maintenance on building equipment, and ensuring compliance with state and local codes. Additionally, you will collaborate effectively with various levels within the organization and participate in building evacuation and emergency drills as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property's major HVAC, plumbing, life safety, and electrical equipment.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance as scheduled.
• Install and repair electrical fixtures and devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Monitor BAS system for optimal space temperatures.
• Assist with emergency preparedness, building shutdowns, and response activities.
• Foster positive working relationships with teammates and customers.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Vocational degree in HVAC or electrical maintenance desired.
• EPA refrigerant transition recovery certification required.
• Minimum of six years of experience in repairing commercial building equipment.
• Ability to read technical instructions and communicate effectively.
• Proficient in using various tools and computer applications.
• Flexible availability for occasional night, weekend, and holiday duties.
• Physically able to perform various tasks and lift up to fifty pounds.
