Job Description

The Polysomnographer/Sleep Technologist at Campbell County Health will play a crucial role in supporting and coordinating departmental functions. They will be responsible for order verification, accurate EMR documentation, patient and family education, and maintaining professional standards. Additionally, they will participate in quality improvement, perform pre and post patient and equipment calibrations, and assist with the initiation, maintenance, billing, and completion of the admission and discharge process. The role also involves responding to after-hour call back and adhering to the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the initiation, maintenance, billing, and completion of the admission and discharge process.
  • Exhibit excellent customer service.
  • Responsible for order verification and accurate EMR documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all personnel and patient care information.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Respond to after-hour call back.
  • Participate in quality improvement.
  • Perform pre and post patient and equipment calibrations, as well as decontamination of equipment/assembly.
  • Assist with patient and family education.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to recognize and provide age-specific care.
  • Comply with the hospital's Corporate Compliance Program.

Requirements

  • Education: High School graduate; a certificate from an AMA-approved school.
  • Licensure: Current CPSGT or RPSGT from the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists, RST from the American Board of Sleep Medicine, or RRT-SDS from the NBRC.
  • Experience: 1 – 2 years.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The ability to maintain continuing education requirements and all certifications and licenses as required; excellent interpersonal skills; able to think quickly and handle various projects simultaneously; analytical and reasoning skills; computer knowledge, etc.
