Job Description

Marion County is seeking a Mental Health Skills Trainer - Supported Employment to positively impact the lives of individuals with severe mental illness. The vocational specialist will assist individuals in finding and maintaining employment based on their preferences. The Supported Employment program aims to help individuals secure competitive jobs in the community, supporting mental health and well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group recreational, social, and skills training services.
  • Deliver Supported Employment services following the Individual Placement and Supports (IPS) standards.
  • Conduct job coaching, guidance, and coordination to facilitate employment.
  • Research job openings, establish connections with employers, and facilitate job development.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and meet performance expectations.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams and participate in team meetings and trainings.

Requirements

  • Three years of relevant work experience in behavioral health services or a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field.
  • Possession of a Mental Health & Addiction Certification Board of Oregon (MHACBO) Qualified Mental Health Associate certification (QMHA) or ability to obtain within ninety days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving history.
  • Knowledge of mental health concepts, de-escalation strategies, and community resources.
