Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant/Medical Secretary-Rheumatology to join our team at Mount Auburn Hospital. In this role, you will provide high-quality, direct patient care and support smooth administrative and clinical operations within the BILH Primary Care-Mt. Auburn practice. The ideal candidate will have the ability to build empathetic relationships with patients and colleagues from diverse backgrounds while ensuring patient safety and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the patient, practice, and organizational goals through relationship development and care coordination.
  • Assist patients during visits by ensuring timely flow, updating medical records, and facilitating communication between patients and providers.
  • Perform medical assisting duties under supervision, including vital sign measurements, EKGs, phlebotomy, and administering immunizations.
  • Support Population Health efforts through health coaching, data gathering, and outreach to patients.
  • Maintain medical equipment, manage prescription renewals, and schedule diagnostic tests.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Health Science preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certificate, Nursing Assistant Certificate, EMT Basic License, or Phlebotomy Certificate preferred.
  • 0-1 years of related work experience.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with web-based applications.

Physical Requirements

  • Medium physical work involving exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently.
  • Frequent sitting, standing, bending, grasping, and fine manipulation using hands.
  • Color vision, visual clarity, and sensory requirements for monitoring and patient care.

Social/Environmental Requirements

  • Close attention to task, judgment to respond to events, exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
  • Health Care Worker status involving close contact with patients and adherence to safety protocols.
