Job Description

OnPoint Medical Group is seeking an outstanding Medical Assistant to join our team at Dakota Ridge. Our physician-led network is committed to expanding access to quality healthcare in the most effective and affordable manner possible.

The Medical Assistant assists providers in examination and treatment of patients by performing various essential duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming and preparing patients for healthcare visits.
  • Documenting vital signs and populating electronic medical records.
  • Assisting providers during examinations and treatments.
  • Maintaining supplies and treatment rooms.
  • Conducting business in a service-oriented manner with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
  • Performing pre-visit planning and maintaining required checks and logs.
  • Addressing voicemails, inbox messages, and front office backup when needed.
  • Maintaining professional relationships with practice vendors.
  • Following HIPAA guidelines and attending training and meetings as required.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited healthcare program or equivalent work experience required.
  • Maintain certifications per state guidelines, BLS card, and computer skills.
  • Nationally recognized as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) strongly preferred.
  • Some Medical Assistant experience required.
  • Current BLS card.

Preferred Education/Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in Family or Pediatrics.
  • Athenahealth practice management system desirable.
