Job Description

Spectrum Center Schools and Programs is seeking an Education Program Director to join our award-winning team. As the Education Program Director, you will be responsible for creating a positive school culture, increasing student achievement, and ensuring the implementation of instructional practices and strategies in accordance with Spectrum and ChanceLight policies. You will also oversee site operations and establish positive, interactive working relationships with school districts.

Responsibilities

  • Providing vision and leadership to support student achievement and effective operations.
  • Supervising staff, developing performance management plans, and identifying professional learning needs.
  • Participating in the employment and selection process to ensure an effective site team.
  • Maintaining the site and classrooms for operation and ensuring compliance with specific state requirements.
  • Managing the enrollment process and transitioning students to the least restrictive environment.
  • Observing, evaluating, and reporting staff and student performance and development.
  • Preparing and presenting required reports on student progress, achievement, and activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with mandatory requirements including IEP process, state testing, and Spectrum policies.
  • Managing student behavior and providing support and counseling to students with academic problems.

Qualifications Required

  • Master’s degree or higher in education, special education, psychology, counseling, or related field.
  • Holding an administrative credential granted by an accredited postsecondary educational institution and two years of experience with pupils with disabilities, or equivalent credentials.

Qualifications Preferred

  • Minimum 2 years prior experience in an educational leadership or managerial role, teaching in a special education program setting, or working with pupils with disabilities.
  • Proficiency in curriculum, content areas, and state or national content standards.
