Diesel Mechanic

Job Description

First Student, the largest school transportation provider in North America, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our team. We offer a competitive salary of $24.50 - $27 per hour, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and additional compensation for ASE certifications. Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
• Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair, including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Ensure accurate completion of work orders and assist with mobile emergency services.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and willingness to obtain CDL while employed.
• Minimum 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education.
• Possession of a mechanic’s tool set and willingness to participate in the ASE certification program.
• Subject to DOT drug testing and physical.
